The NEC appoints Michelle Baldwin to head of events

The NEC has appointed Michelle Baldwin to head of events, which the venue’s owners NEC Group said comes as it increases its event and operations team back to pre-pandemic levels.
Baldwin has been with the NEC Group for 32 years, having previously held the position of senior event manager at the Birmingham venue.
As well as introducing a new head of events, the number of senior event managers in the team has been increased from two to three. Gemma Ellis and Rachel Jennings have been promoted to join Julie Kimpton in these roles. In addition, three new event managers joined the business last month.
Baldwin said: “My affinity with the NEC runs deep, so I am extremely excited to be taking on this position. The wealth of in-venue expertise we have here is world-class and we deliver outstanding events with our organisers.
“It is important we now fine-tune the work that has been done post-pandemic, to further enhance our event management and operational offer. This new team set up gives us the opportunity to do this, as we continue what has already been a very busy season so far.”
