This sustainable trade show booth for Broekhof was designed and built by Booth Exhibits for the Global Produce and Floral Show using fully recyclable cardboard materials. Broekhof USA is a Dutch packaging company operating out of Florida that supplies recyclable and sustainable packaging solutions for the global produce and floral industry. For the Global Produce and Floral Show, they wanted a trade show environment that did more than talk about sustainability. It needed to physically demonstrate it.

The Problem

  • Create a booth to directly represent their cardboard-based packaging products.

Broekhof wanted a show-stopping trade show presence that aligned authentically with their product line and sustainability values — not greenwashing, but genuine sustainable construction.

The Solution

Booth Exhibits™ designed and built the first fully cardboard trade show booth in the United States, crafted entirely from engineered recycled materials.

Key elements of the solution:

  • The entire structure was built from honeycomb-core recycled cardboard with durable cardboard facings on both sides.
  • Through strategic material manipulation — removing sections of skin, cutting relief patterns, and bending surfaces — we were able to shape the cardboard into curved, sculptural forms that echoed Broekhof’s packaging aesthetic.
  • All product displays, shelving, counters, and feature elements were crafted in the same material to create a unified, sustainable environment.
  • The booth was engineered to be lightweight, dramatically reducing drayage fees at the show.
  • Every component was designed to be flat-packed, allowing for low-cost transportation and storage.
  • After the event, the entire booth was repacked into a single pallet and shipped back to Broekhof’s Florida offices, where they reassembled it as an in-office display for customers and staff.
  • The booth balanced creativity, brand storytelling, and structural integrity — showcasing what’s possible when sustainability drives the design process.

This was one of the most unique design exercises we’ve undertaken, and it allowed us to fully express our ethos around innovation and environmental responsibility.

The Result

The booth became one of the most talked-about installations at the Global Produce & Floral Show.

Outcomes included:

  • Extensive attention from visitors, exhibitors, and show organizers — Broekhof was the only fully cardboard booth at the entire event.
  • The area became a live demonstration of Broekhof’s own product capabilities, strengthening their brand messaging and industry positioning.
